Media Registry in the Voyager Suite Ecosystem
The Media Registry is a foundational component of the Nexartis Voyager Suite, providing the secure backbone for content registration, rights management, and attribution tracking. This document explains how the Media Registry integrates with other Voyager Suite products to create a complete ecosystem for independent creators and curators.
The Voyager Suite Ecosystem
The Voyager Suite is a comprehensive set of tools designed to empower independent creators and small studios with professional broadcasting capabilities. The ecosystem consists of several integrated products:
- Media Registry: Secures content ownership, manages rights, and tracks attribution
- Home Base: Processes and prepares content for broadcasting
- Moon Base: Manages 24/7 broadcasting and programming
- Receiver: Delivers content to audiences with premium viewing experiences
- Cubi Cubes: Enables personalized experiences such as The Curator, The Creator Cubi Cube, Members, Sponsors, and Subscriber experiences
All of these components are built on the Helix Platform infrastructure and Cubi Cube framework, providing enterprise-grade performance with creator-friendly interfaces.
Content Creation & Registration Workflow
Creator Journey
- Content Creation: Independent creators produce original content (videos, music, etc.)
- Content Submission: Creators can use personalized
Cubi Cube
experiences such as The Curator or
The Creator Cubi Cube
to submit their content with complete metadata, including:
- Creator information and attribution details
- Ownership splits and rights management data
- Technical specifications and content descriptions
- Registration in Media Registry: Upon submission, content is automatically
registered in the Media Registry where:
- A unique DID (Decentralized Identifier) is assigned to the content
- Content is cryptographically signed to ensure authenticity
- Content hash is generated and stored for tamper verification
- Attribution data is securely linked to the content
- Ownership splits are recorded for proper revenue distribution
- Technical Verification: The Media Registry performs technical validation:
- Video/audio quality assessment
- Format compliance verification
- Metadata completeness check
- Confirmation: Creators receive confirmation of successful registration with their content's unique DID
Technical Implementation
The Media Registry uses the did:ocmeregistry.com method to create unique identifiers for all content. Each piece of content receives a DID document
containing cryptographic proofs, technical metadata, and attribution information. These documents
are signed using RSA keypairs and stored in the Helix Distributed Data Store.
Content Curation & Broadcasting Workflow
Curator Journey
- Content Discovery: Curators browse the Media Registry to discover registered content
- Content Selection: Curators select content for their programming based on:
- Content quality and relevance
- Creator reputation and previous work
- Technical specifications and compatibility
- Content Processing with Home Base: Selected content is processed through
Home Base
where:
- Content is downloaded from the Media Registry with verification of authenticity
- Technical processing prepares content for broadcasting (transcoding, HLS conversion)
- Show metadata is created and linked to original content DIDs
- Attribution data is preserved throughout the processing pipeline
- Content is organized into programming blocks and playlists
- Show Creation: Curators use Home Base to:
- Create shows with selected content
- Arrange content in specific sequences
- Add transitions, graphics, and branding elements
- Prepare programming schedules
- Broadcasting with Moon Base: Completed shows are sent to
Moon Base
for broadcasting:
- Shows are scheduled for 24/7 broadcasting
- Content is streamed with frame-accurate transitions
- Attribution data is preserved for play tracking
- Viewing analytics are collected
- Play Registration: As content is broadcast, Moon Base registers plays back
to the Media Registry:
- Each play is recorded with timestamp and channel information
- Play data is linked to the original content DID
- Attribution data is used to allocate play credits to creators
Technical Implementation
Home Base and Moon Base communicate with the Media Registry through secure API endpoints. Content authenticity is verified at each stage using the cryptographic signatures in the DID documents. The play registration system uses a secure webhook architecture to ensure all broadcasts are properly tracked and attributed.
Revenue Generation & Distribution
Monetization Flow
The integration between the Media Registry and other Voyager Suite components enables transparent, fair revenue generation and distribution:
Revenue Sources
- Advertising during broadcasts
- Sponsorships and product placements
- Subscription fees from viewers
- Pay-per-view special events
- Merchandise and related product sales
- Licensing fees for content reuse
Distribution Mechanism
- Play tracking through Moon Base
- Attribution data from Media Registry
- Ownership splits recorded in DID documents
- Automated calculation of revenue shares
- Transparent reporting to all stakeholders
- Secure payment processing
Revenue Flow Process:
- Play Registration: Moon Base registers each content play with the Media Registry and records play data to the blockchain
- Attribution Lookup: The Media Registry identifies all creators and their ownership splits from the content's DID document
- Revenue Allocation: Revenue is allocated according to The OCME Governance Framework and ownership percentages
- Blockchain Settlement: A smart contract on the Base blockchain calculates payments based on play records and treasury funds
- Creator Payment: Creators receive automatic stablecoin payments after each settlement period
- Performance Analytics: Creators and curators receive detailed analytics on content performance and revenue generation

Case Study: Complete Content Lifecycle
This example illustrates the complete lifecycle of content through the Voyager Suite ecosystem, highlighting the central role of the Media Registry:
Independent Music Video Production
Creation Phase
- Independent artist creates a music video with multiple collaborators (director, editor, etc.)
- Artist completes a split sheet detailing ownership percentages for all contributors
- Video is finalized with professional-grade production quality
Registration Phase
- Artist uploads the video through personalized Cubi Cube experiences (such as The Curator or Creator Cubi Cube) with complete metadata and split sheet
- Media Registry assigns a unique DID to the content:
did:ocmeregistry.com:media:7ac7285d4c9d17e3 - Content is cryptographically signed and verified
- Attribution data is securely stored with the content DID
- Artist receives confirmation of successful registration
Curation Phase
- Curator discovers the music video in the Media Registry
- Curator selects the video for inclusion in a music video programming block
- Home Base downloads the video with verification against its DID
- Video is processed for broadcasting (transcoded, converted to HLS)
- Curator creates a music video show incorporating the content
- Show is prepared for broadcasting with proper sequencing and transitions
Broadcasting Phase
- Show is uploaded to Moon Base with all attribution data preserved
- Moon Base schedules the show for broadcasting in a 24/7 stream
- Content is broadcast to viewers through the Receiver platform
- Each play of the music video is registered back to the Media Registry
- Attribution data from the DID document is used to credit all contributors
Monetization Phase
- Revenue is generated through advertising, sponsorships, and subscriptions
- Play data from Moon Base is combined with attribution data from the Media Registry
- Revenue is allocated based on play count and ownership splits
- All contributors receive their share of revenue automatically
- Artist and collaborators receive detailed analytics on performance and revenue
- Content continues to generate revenue with each broadcast
Throughout this entire process, the Media Registry serves as the authoritative source of content ownership, attribution, and rights management, ensuring all stakeholders are properly credited and compensated.
